Minimum Wage in Florida to Change January 1, 2007

The Agency for Workforce Innovation (“AWI”) has announced that the minimum wage in the State of Florida will change to $6.67 per hour effective January 1, 2007 for all hours worked by employees in Florida. For “tipped employees” who meet the eligibility requirements for the tip credit under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act, employers must pay a direct hourly wage of $3.65 beginning January 1, 2007.

Additionally, AWI has announced that beginning in 2007, employers must display a poster in a conspicuous, accessible place. The dimensions of the poster must be at least 8.5” by 11.” The poster may be downloaded from AWI’s website at
