new additions to our firm:

Jason C Taylor

Jason C. Taylor graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida and received his Juris Doctor from Florida State University.  He is a member of The Florida Bar as well as The Georgia Bar.  Mr. Taylor is admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida.

Mr. Taylor practices in the areas of Labor and Employment Law, Administrative Law, Appellate Law, Civil Rights Defense, Construction Litigation, Automobile and Transportation Liability Defense, Bad Faith and Insurance Coverage Defense, and Premises Liability.

 

Elizabeth Davis

Elizabeth Lee Davis is firm administrator of Sniffen & Spellman.  Ms. Davis graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude, from Florida State University and is a Certified Legal Manager as designated by the Association of Legal Administrators. 

Ms. Davis is currently the Secretary of the Legal Administrators Association of Tallahassee, has served as President, and been an active board member since its inception in 1997.  She has also served as President and board member of the Capital Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators.  Ms. Davis has over 25 years of experience in the legal management profession.

Robert J. Super Lawyers: Top 100, Top 5%, and Rising Stars

Super Lawyers magazine names attorneys in each state who received the highest ranking through peer nominations, evaluations and third party research.  Five percent of the total lawyers in the state are selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers.  Rising Stars names the state's top up-and-coming attorneys.  No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are named to the Super Lawyers Rising Star list.

Spellman Appointed as Vice Chair to the Federal Court Practice Committee

Michael P. Spellman has been appointed Vice Chair of the Federal Court Practice Committee.  The Federal Court Practice Committee serves as the Bar’s liaison to the federal courts, the standing committees of the Federal Judicial Conference, and to chapters of the Federal Bar Association in Florida, and those committees of the Florida Bar interested in federal practice. The committee reviews proposed changes to the federal rules, including all local rules.  The committee publishes the Florida Federal Court Judges’ Practice Guide which describes the practices of individual federal judges in all three districts.

Sniffen & Spellman Sponsors National Speaker

Sniffen & Spellman co-sponsored the 2nd Annual Tallahassee Downtown Book Fair on May 15, 2010. John Heilemann was the headline speaker at the Book Fair held in Ponce de Leon Park in Tallahassee, Florida. Mr. Heilemann is the national political correspondent and columnist for New York magazine. He is co-author, with Mark Halperin, of the national best seller Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime – the definitive account of the 2008 presidential election.
